Bob Dylan – Gospel Plow

(First release?Traditional, arranged by Bob Dylan) Mary wore three links of chain, Every link was Jesus name, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on, Oh, Lord, Oh, Lord, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on. Mary, Mark and Luke and John, All them prophets are dead and gone, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on, Oh, Lord, Oh, Lord, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on. Well I never been to heaven, but I’ve been told, Streets up there are lined with gold, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on, Oh, Lord, Oh, Lord, Keep your hand on that plow, hold on. Bob Dylan – 4th Time Around

Come gather around people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You’ll be drenched to the bone. If your time to you Is worth savin’ Then you better start swimmin’ Or you’ll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin’. Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won’t come again And don’t speak too soon For the wheel’s still in spin And there’s no tellin’ who That it’s namin’. For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin’. Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don’t stand in the doorway Don’t block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled, The battle outside ragin’ Will soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin’. Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don’t criticize What you can’t understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is Rapidly aging Please get out of the new one If you can’t lend your hand For the times they are a-changin’. The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is...

Bob Dylan – Bob Dylan’s Dream

While riding on a train goin’ west, I fell asleep for to take my rest. I dreamed a dream that made me sad, Concerning myself and the first few friends I had. With half-damp eyes I stared to the room Where my friends and I’d spend many an afternoon, Where we together weathered many a storm, Laughin’ and singin’ ’til the early hours of the morn. By the old wooden stove where our hats was hung, Our words was told, our songs was sung, Where we longed for nothin’ and were satisfied Jokin’ and talkin’ about the world outside. With hungry hearts through the heat and cold, We never much thought we could ever get old. We thought we could sit forever in fun An’ our chances really was a million to one. As easy it was to tell black from white, It was all that easy to tell wrong from right. And our choices they was few and the thought never hit That the one road we traveled would ever shatter and split. Now many a year has passed and gone, Many a gamble has been lost and won, And many a road taken by many a first friend, And each one I’ve never seen again. I wish, I wish, I wish in vain, That we could sit simply in that room again. Ten thousand dollars at the...
