Non solo la band si è esibita sul palco dei BRIT Awards 2017, ma si è anche portata a casa il primo riconoscimento della loro carriera. Il gruppo rock formato da Matty Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel e Ross MacDonald e ha ricevuto il suo primo Brit Award per il Miglior Gruppo Britannico. L’esibizione dei The 1975 ai Brits (il brano scelto per l’occasione è stato The Sound) è stata impreziosita da un’idea molto originale: sullo schermo dei telespettatori da casa la band ha deciso di trasmettere, nel corso della performance, una serie di giudizi negativi da parte della critica ricevuti nel corso degli anni.
